I hope the day will come when we can actually walk into a hospital and place an order for an organ in our body that may not be functioning well.
In January 2004, a group of scientists in the US have used embryonic stem cells of cows to successfully from kidney-like organs that function and can be implanted into adult cows with damaged kidneys. If this works with human cells, then, there will be no need for donor kidney transplants in the future.
